Jocelyn Honoured in the Black and White Spider Awards

Fraser Coast photographer Jocelyn Watts received international recognition in the prestigious 9th Annual Black and White Spider Awards, earning a Nominee Award in the Abstract Photography category.

The Black and White Spider Awards are regarded as one of the world’s leading competitions dedicated exclusively to black and white photography. Each year, professional and amateur photographers from around the globe submit thousands of entries, with winners and nominees selected by an international panel of industry experts.

Jocelyn’s nominated image, Eco Fire, stood out among more than 8,500 entries from 73 countries.

The annual awards presentation culminated in an online PhotoShow gala, where photography enthusiasts from around the world logged in to celebrate the year’s most outstanding images.

According to awards creative director Basil O’Brien, the standard of entries was exceptionally high.

“It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 8,508 entries from 73 countries that we received this year.”

O’Brien described Eco Fire as an exceptional image and congratulated Jocelyn on receiving the title of Nominee in the Abstract category.

The recognition followed earlier success in the competition. In the previous year’s Black and White Spider Awards, Jocelyn received two Nominee Awards: Sensual in the Abstract category and Flying on Cloud 9 in the Fine Art category.
